This win placed Beemster Lite, along with Paradiso, in the "Sweet 16". The Sweet 16 are the top 16 cheeses that place with the highest rankings. With 2,955 entries from 23 countries, this was the largest World Cheese Championship Contest that the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association (WCMA) has ever hosted.
