We love mixing sweet and savory for dessert1 Here, flaky puff pastry is topped with mixed berries and sweetened cream cheese plus the punch of slightly sharp and sweet Beemster Goat.

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). In a medium bowl, combine Beemster Goat cheese, cream cheese, vanilla, and 2 tbsp granulated sugar. Mix well to combine.

  2. In a large bowl, mix together remaining 1 tbsp granulated sugar, blueberries, raspberries, and lemon juice. Toss to coat.

  3. On a lightly floured surface, roll puff pastry into a 9x12–inch rectangle. Cut the rectangle lengthwise into thirds and cut each strip into 3 pieces to make 9 rectangles. Transfer to a parchment-lined baking sheet.

  4. Leaving a ½–inch border, prick the centers of the dough with a fork. Dollop 1 rounded tbsp cream cheese filling into the center of each pastry, and gently flatten with your fingers. Top each pastry evenly with mixed berries.

  5. In a small bowl, whisk the egg with 1 tbsp water. Brush the egg mixture around the sides of each pastry. Bake until pastry is fluffy and golden brown, 15–17 min. Dust with confectioners’ sugar.
